Frequently Asked Questions
How many pizzas do I need for a party?
A common rule of thumb is 3 slices per adult. A large pizza has about 8 slices, so it feeds roughly 3 people. For 10 people, order about 4 large pizzas. Adjust up for hungry crowds or teenagers.
How many slices are in a pizza?
A small (10″) pizza usually has 6 slices, medium (12″) and large (14″) have 8 slices, and extra-large (16–18″) has 10–12 slices. This calculator assumes 8 slices for a large pizza.
How many pizzas for 20 people?
At 3 slices per person, 20 people need 60 slices — about 8 large pizzas. For a lighter event with sides, 6–7 large pizzas may be enough; for a hungry crowd, order 8–9.
Should I order more variety or more of one type?
For groups, order a mix: about 40% cheese/pepperoni (crowd favorites) and 60% variety. Always include at least one vegetarian option, and consider one gluten-free or specialty pie for larger gatherings.
How do I account for sides and appetizers?
If you are serving wings, salad, breadsticks, or dessert, reduce to about 2 slices per person. If pizza is the only food, use 3–4 slices per person depending on appetite.
