Frequently Asked Questions
How much do influencers make per post?
A widely used industry rule of thumb is about $100 per 10,000 followers per sponsored post — roughly $10 per 1,000 followers. Rates vary a lot by platform, niche, and engagement: high-engagement or high-value niches (finance, tech) command more, while low-engagement accounts earn less.
Does engagement rate matter more than follower count?
Often yes. Brands increasingly pay for engagement and conversions, not raw follower numbers. A micro-influencer with a 6% engagement rate can out-earn a larger account with 1% engagement, because their audience actually acts on recommendations. This calculator scales the estimate by your engagement rate.
What are the creator tiers?
Nano (under 10K followers), Micro (10K–100K), Mid-tier (100K–500K), Macro (500K–1M), and Mega/celebrity (1M+). Nano and micro creators usually have the highest engagement and best value for brands, even though their per-post rates are lower.
How do creators actually get paid?
Sponsored posts and brand deals are the biggest source for most, but income also comes from platform ad revenue (YouTube, TikTok Creator Fund), affiliate commissions, merchandise, memberships (Patreon), and digital products. This calculator estimates the sponsored-post portion.
Is this an exact quote of what I will earn?
No — it is a benchmark estimate. Real rates are negotiated per deal and depend on your niche, content quality, exclusivity, usage rights, and the brand budget. Use it as a starting point for pricing conversations, not a guaranteed figure.
